Massa credits character of Cranes team

Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa

Kampala. Having been part of the Cranes’ set up since 2003, Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa has played alongside a considerable number of players.
But after seeing the current generation seal Afcon qualification for the first time in 39 years, the South Africa-based striker believes the current generation stood out because of their determination to succeed.
“This is not the best Cranes’ team I have featured in. We have had some really talented players over the years like Sekagya, Obua and Batabaire. The current team, however, beats them in character and attitude. We have been united and fought for each other,” he stated after the game.

Ethiopia-based defender Isaac Isinde

Ethiopia-based defender Isaac Isinde who has been a mainstay in the past campaign believes the result will now earn the country sporting recognition.
“We now have the chance to show the world what we can do. It is a chance to market ourselves. We hope our feat acts as a springboard for future generations,” he explained.
Isinde was part of the Cranes rearguard that conceded only two goals in six games as they qualified courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Comoros on Sunday.
