To mark the teacher's day, state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama threw a party for the gurus along with their families at the minister's enclave on Sunday.

AHMEDABAD: To mark the teacher's day, state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama threw a party for the gurus along with their families at the minister's enclave on Sunday.
Chudasama had invited the teachers to his residence where the party was organized. Gujarat State Higher Secondary Teachers Federation president Pankaj Patel said that this was for the first time that any government had given such respect to the teachers.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the teacher's day, 62 teachers at district level and 132 at taluka level were felicitated, apart from 42 at the state level. According to the tradition, the state government awards Rs 5,000 to the selected teachers at taluka level, Rs 15,000 at the district level, and Rs 51,000 besides a shawl at the state level.
Chudasama later also gave appointment letters to over 300 teachers who were serving as vidhya sahayaks.
Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Vijay Rupani said that the next decade will be of education and knowledge. tnn
