Chandigarh, September 5
NK Solanki, DC, Fatehabad today suspended four women sarpanches for contesting elections on the basis of fake degrees.
The authorities received complaints about sarpanch Veerpal Kaur of Pilchhian, sarpanch Baljeet Kaur of Bhani Khera, sarpanch Sonali Rani of Samain and sarpanch Sunita of Bangaon contesting elections on the basis of fake educational certificates.
A similar complaint has also been made against panch Darshan Singh of ward 7 in Talwara.
Solanki issued show-cause notices to the sarpanches and the panch. However, the accused could not present any concrete evidence in their defence. — TNS
