PM to raise Kashmir issue at UN: aide

Special assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will raise Kashmir issue at the United Nations General Assembly session.

In an interview, Fatemi said the world supports Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, adding that Islamabad will raise the issue at every international forum.

The special assistant added that the prime minister had asked the UN to send a fact-finding mission to investigate human rights violations in Indian-held Kashmir.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will depart for the United States on September 16 to attend a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He will also address the UN General Assembly.
