Globosat, RTVE, TVN locate Bin Laden doc

A trio of broadcasters has acquired a ZDF documentary profiling notorious terrorist Osama bin Laden.

Globosat in Brazil, RTVE in Spain and TVN in Poland are the first buyers of Osama bin Laden – Up Close and Personal from ZDF’s sales arm, ZDF Enterprises.

The doc uses recently releases documents to paint a picture of the last year of bin Laden’s life in Pakistan, where he and part of his family hid out from American soldiers until they located and killed him in May 2011.

The documents reveal his communications with Al-Qaeda, the terrorist group he led until his death, and with his wives and children. They will make up part of the programme, along with an account of how his couriers eventually led US Special Forces operatives to his location.
