On the closing of the five day theatre festival at Punjab Natshala, Vihaan Drama Works from Madhya Pradesh presented the play ‘Amrita’. The paly based on the memoirs of the poetess titled ‘Rasidi Ticket’, briefly presented the life of Amrita Pritam, highlighting her friendship with Sahil Ludhianvi and Imroz.
Directed by Sudeep Sahni, the play ended with a huge round of applause for actors. Dedicated to the 97th birth anniversary of Amrita Pritam, the festival presented three plays by Vihaan Drama Works.
“It was an amazing opportunity to come to Amritsar and experience the audience and theatre culture here. We will like to continue our association with the city’s theatre circuit,” said Sahni.
The festival was organised by Rangmahal, a theatre collaboration, and Punjab Naatshala. Artistes were also honoured at the conclusion of the theatre festival here today.
