Roorkee IIT on digital journey

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, has become the first IIT in the country to embark on a digital transformation journey by deploying enterprise resource planning (ERP) technology on its campus. Director Pradipta Banerji yesterday described the step as another feather in the cap of the prestigious institute.

“The Roorkee IIT has a heritage and legacy of many firsts. With Wave-I of ADVAITA ERP digitisation project, we have added another feather in the cap of the institute by becoming the first IIT in India to have chosen operational digital transformation across our campuses.

“It is like embarking upon a voyage of self-discovery. Let there be no doubt that this is the beginning of a monumental change, that is going to transform the way we perform various processes,” Banerji said at an event held to mark the implementation of the project.

“A whole new world of possibilities awaits us, like never before. Our challenge is not only to embrace this change unwaveringly, but also to leverage its potential to the fullest,” he said.

With the implementation and completion of the ERP Digitisation Project, the IIT, Roorkee, is set to efficiently transform its processes and systems for operational efficiency, transparency and a better user experience in day-to-day functions for students and the administration alike.

The ADVAITA SAP ERP System, over a period of time and with completion of Wave-II next year, would help the institute achieve a greater focus on analytics, better and quick decision making, robust and accurate business information, improved financial reporting, and simple easy-to-use interfaces.
