Bali Bhagat, Jugal inaugurate Regional Drug Warehouse at Nagrota

The J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Limited has established a regional modern drug warehouse to store medical supplies for the Government hospitals here at Nagrota.A model in its own, the  regional drug warehouse was inaugurated  by Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat in presence of Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma at Nagrota.The state-of-art 3-floors Drug Ware House has been constructed over an area of 26436 Sft at a cost of Rs 5.06 crore by the PWD (R&B) department and completed within the stipulated period of two years. The ware house is fully equipped with the heavy duty rackers and stackers providing ample space for the storage of drugs, medicines, surgical, sutures, dressing materials and other stores to meet the demand of the region.Speaking on the occasion, Bali Bhagat congratulated the Health Department and JKMSCL in particular for establishment of the Drug Warehouse. He said with this facility of stock and storage constant supply will be maintained to hospitals. He said that Government is committed to    improve and upgrade patient care in the state and take the services to the door steps of the people in every nook and corner of the state.

The Minister impressed upon the officers and officials of the JKMSCL to work with zeal and dedication. He stressed on close coordination among the managements of the government Hospitals, Health and Medical Education Department and Corporation to streamline the supplies and enforcement of transparency in the process.Mr. Bali further stressed on the need to maintain close coordination between health department and connected field functionaries to extend adequate medicare to the people especially living in hilly and remote areas of the state.  Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma said that government is committed to provide best possible healthcare services to the people of the state especially living in far-flung areas at their doorsteps. He said that the pressure on secondary and tertiary care hospitals would decrease when rural healthcare institutions are upgraded and modernized to cater to the requirement of the local patient. Managing Director, JKMSCL, Dr. Yashpaul Sharma, Principal GMC Jammu, Dr. Zahid Geelani, Principal GDC, Jammu, Dr. Romesh Singh, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma, Director, Health Services Jammu, Dr. B. S. Pathania, General Manager JKMSCL Dr. Rajinder Khajuria, Medical Superintendent GMC Jammu, Dr. Ramesh Gupta besides senior doctors, officers and officials of JKMSCL and Health and Medical Education Department were also present on the occasion.
