AHMEDABAD: The state government on Friday vehemently opposed the anticipatory bail applications filed by three office bearers of Federation of Industries and Association (FIA) Gujarat, who are accused of sexual exploitation and molestation by a 32-year old businesswoman.
Ellisbridge police has registered an FIR against Arvind Gajera, Kirit Patel and KT Patel after a businesswoman complained of sexual exploitation and issuing threats to her.
The complainant runs an advertisement and event management company.
Opposing the anticipatory bail pleas, the cops have argued that the accused persons are influential people and they could tamper with evidence and influence witnesses. The court has now kept further hearing on this issue on September 6.
According to the complaint, in December 2015, the complainant had to travel widely with the trio as part of their project. She When they had gone to Jamnagar, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, the woman alleged that Gajera had molested her in Surat's Ginger hotel and Jamnagar's Kunvarbhai Dharamshala. When they were returning from Jamnagar GIDC to Rajkot, Gajera took the car to a lonely place and molested her again, she states in her complaint.
When she complained about Gajera’s alleged transgresses to two other accused persons, they allegedly did not take it seriously but rather approved of his behaviour. She alleged that all three later harassed her.
