Man who abducted, killed teen sent to 11 days custody
Rajkot: The Jamnagar court on Friday granted the police 11 days' custody of Mayank Sanghani, who allegedly kidnapped and murdered the son of a prominent industrialist two days ago.
Sanghani was arrested on Thursday for murdering 17-year-old Karan, son of Kishore Soni, a well-known brass parts industrialist in Jamnagar. Karan was a class XII (science) student.
"We had asked for his remand to know whether anyone else helped him in committing the crime, where he stayed and collect more evidence to make a watertight case," said police official.

On Tuesday afternoon, Sanghani had called Karan to an under-construction building on Ranjit Sagar Road and asked him to call up his family members and ask for Rs 2 crore. However, there was an altercation between the two and during the fight, Sanghani strangulated Karan to death.
On Thursday, police received a tip-off that Sanghani was travelling from Rajkot towards Jamnagar in a private bus. Police nabbed him near Khijadiya bypass road.
