Brig Pahwa is UPNL MD

The state government has appointed Brig PPS Pahwa (retd) as Managing Director of Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Nigam Limited (UPNL) on a contractual basis for three years. Brig Pahwa was appointed after present managing director Brig AN Bahuguna retired on August 30. Brig Pahwa has an illustrious career of 36 years in the Indian Army. He had served in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) directorate in Uttarakhand from 2008 to 2012.

It may be recalled that the state government had invited applications for the post of the managing director in mid-August. A committee chaired by Chief Secretary Shatrughan Singh sent a list of most deserving candidates to the Chief Minister’s office for the final decision. The applicants were interviewed and the final selection made on the basis of their ranks, tenure of service and experience in the Indian armed forces.
