Tuborg producer grows sales by a quarter in Romania
URBB, the company selling Tuborg, Carlsberg, Skol and Holsten beer brands in Romania, saw a 25% increase in its sales in the first half of this year.
The growth was due to the VAT reduction, an increase in the number of tourists, and a “not so rainy summer”, said Shachar Shaine, URBB president, reports local Wall-street.ro. In July and August, the URBB factory in Pantelimon near Bucharest operated non-stop.
The company’s turnover reached over EUR 48 million in the first half of the year. The profit went up by 50% to EUR 1.8 million. The brand which saw the highest growth in sales was Tuborg, with an increase of 20% in the first eight months of the year.
The company’s exports rose by 64%. URBB now sells abroad about 10% of its production.
