When Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut with the film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi (1996), he was merely known as megastar Chiranjeevi's younger brother. Nobody ever thought he would later became a celebrated actor in Telugu Cinema. Many people compare Pawan Kalyan's popularity to that of legendary actor NT Rama Rao. But unlike NTR, he hasn't done too many films. He might not have so many blockbuster as many of his contemporaries like Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR, but the adulation he enjoys is something unique. Today, he's known by the sobriquet 'Power Star' who has carved a niche for himself and won a legion of ardent fans. Unlike his counterparts, Pawan Kalyan is choosy about his films. In fact, in a career spanning over two decades, Kalyan has a filmography of just 23 films. What makes Pawan Kalyan special is his films. More than quantity, Kalyan believes in quality of the film. Hence, throughout his career, he only has a single release every year. However, he's now the much-demanded actor.

Trained Karate expert:

Apart from being a star, Pawan Kalyan is also a trained Karate expert. This is one of the interesting sides of Kalyan which many people might not know. He has a black belt in Karate. His expertise in the field helped him to choreograph stunt sequences in his own films. In films like Badri, Kushi and Teen Maar, Kalyan choreographed some breath-taking stunts.

During the audio launch of his Gopala Gopala, Kalyan personally met a fan who was injured by a mob who denied tickets for the audio launch. Recently, when Vinod Kumar, a Kalyan fan was stabbed to death by a Jr NTR fan, Kalyan met Vinod's parents and expressed his grief.

Just like Tamil actor Ajith Kumar, Pawan Kalyan is not a media person and rarely gives interviews to people. He has always spoke about his ideologies of life openly. Behind his multiple facets, Pawan Kalyan will go down in the history for the person he is. Last year, Pawan Kalyan campaigned for the rights of farmers against the land-pooling system of the Andhra Pradesh government. He spent an entire day with the farmers and there have been a lot of instances when Kalyan proved he is no more than a common man. Though Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi locked horns in politics, the latter had stated that he was the right person to enter politics when Kalyan launched his Jana Sena Party in 2014.
