HYDERABAD: Burglars struck at the residence of a software engineer and stole 30 tolas of gold at Anjaiah Enclave in Boduppal in the wee hours of Thursday.
Medipally police said Amit Singh, a software engineer with Genpact, went to office on Wednesday evening. When he returned home in the early hours of Thursday, Amit found that the central lock of the front door was prised open and the door was ajar.
He entered the house and found valuables, including 30 tolas gold, in the cupboard missing.
"Amit hails from Jammu and Kashmir and his wife went to their native state recently. The burglars broke the locks of the door and the cupboard and stole the gold ornaments,'' Medipally inspector (Detective) Naveen Kumar said. According to police, there were no CCTV cameras at Anjaiah Enclave or nearby areas.
