BJP’s state IT cell held a day-long workshop on Thursday at Shree Kamalam where a new campaign named ‘Hu Chhu Gujarat (I Am Gujarat)’ was launched. Another unique feature of the workshop, which was attended by over 400 IT Cell workers, was the use of biometric scanner for the first time to mark attendance.

The workshop was chaired by state BJP president Jitu Vaghani and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. National IT convener Amit Malaviya and state IT cell convener Rajika Kacheria were in the attendance.

Addressing the participants, the CM said that it was “moral responsibility of the social media team of IT cell to counter “smear campaign” by Congress and other opponents against BJP and the state government.

Vaghani, welcoming the IT Cell workers, said, “Social media is part of the society and it should be used for reaching out to people with welfare schemes and other programmes.”

National joint organising secretary V Satish said the national interest was supreme for the party. “Building of human mind will change the mindset which will change the situation on it own,” he said, adding that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effective and active leadership that earned India a goodwill in world in fighting natural calamities and difficult situations.

Festive offer

Malaviya said the IT Cell should serve as a bridge between people and the government.
