This may be a game changer for Chunkey Pandey

The actor's look has to be seen to be believed...

There was a time in the late eighties and early nineties, when Chunkey Pandey used to play main lead in movies. With films like Tezaab and Aankhen, he was once a successful bet at the box office. But his career diminished soon after and since 2003, he's been playing character roles usually in comedy movies. He is a small but integral part of Housefull franchise as Aakhri Pasta. In today's time, no one takes him seriously, not even he himself. But it looks like with the release of Vidya Balan's Begum Jaan, things will change for the actor. Recently released first look pics say the same. Chunkey Pandey who is known for his comedy is seen in completely different avatar with bald head and stubble. The look is kind of scary. It all started when Chunkey thought of giving an audition for the role. He said he had no hopes of bagging the role but he still tried his hands at it. Recalls Chunkey, "The ADs were in splits because they had seen Housefull 3 just the previous night and didn't think I could play anyone so evil and gut-wrenchingly ugly. I did the audition without much hope of bagging the role but a few days later, I was called over by Srijit" He further added that the director Sriji took him to a barber shop, he said, "He marched me into a barber's shop. I came out bald and when I reached home my wife (Bhavna) screamed and ordered me out of our bedroom for the next two weeks. She wouldn't even look at me till I looked like the normal Chunky". He also added that there is a scene in the film where his villainous character kills Begum's pet dog and has it served to the ladies of the brothel who even savour it till they learn the truth. "That's definitely going to alienate my daughter who's a complete dog-lover. But it's a side to my acting, no one has seen before."

Begum Jaan is an official remake of Bengali film Rajkahini, which is the story of 11 fearless women riding against the tide amidst the changing political scenario during Partition. Vidya Balan plays Begum Jaan in the film.

Going by his look, Chunkey Pandey is surely gonna make people take notice of him beyond his slapstick comedy he is famous for.
