BARC Report Week 34: Brahmarakshas is holding steady at its second spot securing a higher position for ZEE TV as well

It has come as a huge surprise for everyone that Brahmarakshas is a monster hit

Last year, Naagin created a record of sorts when it took the top spot till the weeks it ran for season one. It resulted in a spate of supernatural shows on all channels. Of course, it was the success of Sasural Simar Ka that initiated this movement. Vishkanya on Zee TV tanked but Ekta Kapoor’s latest offering, Brahmarakshas is doing quite well. Fresh pairing
The show marks the return of Krystle Dsouza and Aham Sharma. Both these actors are making a comeback after a while. Krystle was last seen on Ekk Nayi Pehchaan while Aham played the brooding tycoon on Manmarziyaan. People are loving Rishabh and Raina and the cute chemistry shared between the two. Great narrative
The story is told in a crisp and engaging manner. What it does not have in terms of special effects and CGI, it makes up with its story. There is a hint of intrigue with the back-story of the zamindar who lost his sense of right and wrong after being deceived in love. Parag Tyagi
If Krystle and Aham make up the eye candy on the show, it is Parag who does full justice as the deranged Brahmarakshas. The actor is tall, beefy and inspires that fear. Considering the poor CGI, more brownie points for the actor.

Ensemble cast
Kishwer Merchant and Rakshanda Khan also deserve a mention. People are loving Kishwer in the negative avatar of Aparajita while Rakshanda looks like a dream. The lady who plays the fortune teller in Kasam also has a similar role in Brahmarakshas.

Thrills
The show might not thrill or give you the creeps, but the story creates interest. Moreover, the tracks and scenes do not drag at all. The concept of Brahmarakshas exists in Indian mythology and the show is also inspired by the cult thriller hit, Jaani Dushman that had an evil zamindar preying on brides.

Brahmarakshas has played a key role in securing the second spot for ZEE TV in the channels list. It has done what Kavach could not do for Colors. Both the urban and rural crowd is liking the show immensely. Stay tuned for more updates on Bollywood Life…
