Check out Paul McGrath's bashful reaction when the crowd cheered him last night

It was an emotional evening in the Aviva Stadium last night, as Republic of Ireland fans gathered to say farewell to green jersey stalwart Robbie Keane.

After 18 years and an incredible 68 goals the cartwheeling Dublin striker said a final farewell to the green army.

But being a loyal and affectionate bunch, the crowd also took a minute to acknowledge another Irish icon in the stadium.

Legendary defender Paul McGrath was in attendance and when he was shown on the big screen during the second half he got a rousing cheer.

McGrath was initially baffled by the applause but when he realised it was meant for him, he acknowledged the crowd with a modest wave.

Only one chant would do in the circumstances: “Ooh ah, Paul McGrath, say ooh ah Paul McGrath!”

Lovely stuff.

The two Irish legends met up later on in the evening.
