Aurangabad: Shikshak Bharti, an advocacy group in the education sector is organizing a rally in Mumbai on September 2 to raise voice against the alleged unjust policies of the government in the education sector and also to highlight different demands.
Over 500 teachers and non-teaching staff from Aurangabad district have registered for the rally.
The major demands raised by Shikshak Bharti included making the old pension scheme applicable for teachers who have joined services before 2005, speeding up the promotion process in schools run by the zilla parishad and have consent for inter-taluka mutual transfers of teachers.

Nitin Pawar, member of Shikshak Bharti, said: "Teachers constituency legislator Kapil Patil will lead the rally. It's been two years since the BJP-led government came to power but our demands that were pending under the Congress-NCP government still remain unaddressed. The government should take our protest rally seriously."
"The stakeholders who have been adversely affected by the government's policies will be joining us in the rally," he added.
