6-year-old dengue suspect dies

BELAGAVI: A six-year-old girl from Bailhongal, who was suspected to be suffering from dengue, died late on Monday night. This is the second death due to dengue in the district in the past two days. Alviya Ashfaq Nesaragi of Basava Nagar in Bailhongal died at a private hospital in Dharwad. She was down with high fever for the past few days and was treated at a private hospital at Bailhongal before being shifted to Dharwad for further treatment.
The test reports are yet to be released.
The health department officials have collected the blood samples of residents in Jyoti Nagar and Ramthirth Nagar in Belagavi and Basava Colony in Bailhogal and sent them for tests.
