Srinagar, August 31
Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday discussed issues relating to the restoration of peace and normalcy in the state and the forthcoming visit of an all-party delegation led by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
They discussed important matters relating to the urgent restoration of peace and normalcy and those relating to the all-party delegation’s visit
to the state on September 4 and 5, an official spokesman said.
The meeting assumes significance in view of the visit of the all-party delegation to discuss and find ways to end the ongoing unrest in the Kashmir valley, continuing for the past 54 days.
This was the CM’s fifth meeting with the Governor since the unrest began in early July. Mehbooba met the Governor on July 12, days after trouble started following the killing of militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
Rajnath had on August 25 announced that he had conveyed to the CM to set into motion the visit of an all-party delegation to the state.
