NOTTINGHAM: Former Pakistan’s cricketer Wasim Akram asked cricket authorities to bring back Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad in ODI team following the defeat in the third match against England. England won over Pakistan and the victory in this day/night match was all but assured after they made a new ODI record total of 444 for three featuring opener Alex Hales´s national best 171. Wasim Akram blamed ‘the system’ saying that it has failed to maintain the quality of players and the return of Akmal and Shehzad is the need of time now who have been facing action for violation of discipline. “Bring them back, it’s enough. You can drop them again, if they are found responsible for violating discipline,” Akram said. “Captain has to score consistently, making runs once in a while won’t be enough. Shoaib Malik has also failed to deliver with ball and bat,” he added.
