HARIDWAR: Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi on Tuesday expressed her unhappiness with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's condemnation of the 'gau bhakts'. "The BJP, which came to power with their (gau bhakts) support is now condemning them," she said while speaking at a function here. The BJP, according to her, had to pay a heavy price in Delhi and Bihar assembly polls for shunning Hindutva as its poll agenda.
"It (BJP) will be routed if it makes the same mistake in Uttar Pradesh elections," she warned.
The VHP leader took exception to the undue importance being given to the nine Congress rebel leaders in Uttarakhand who lost the assembly membership after joining the BJP. "This might create a revolt-like situation in BJP," she said.
Sadhvi Prachi also demanded the removal of Mehbooba Mufti as chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir and imposition of President's rule in the state. She slammed the Central government for its "failure to bring things under control in the state (J&K)". "Army jawans are attacked with stones, they are killed in terrorist attacks and Pakistan flags are publicly hoisted. This is what had happened during the seven decades of rule of Congress or other parties in the state. So, how is the present regime in Jammu & Kashmir different from that of others parties?" she said.
Prachi said she does not want the J&K government to stop using pellet guns while dealing with rioters. "A 'tit for tat' policy should be adopted towards the protestors," said the sadhvi.
