Just when luxury cars are pooling on the roads, a native of Pali city in Rajasthan has purchased a horse for a whopping Rs 1.11 crore.

Interestingly, the horse costs more than the luxury SUV Grand Cherokee priced at Rs 93.64 lakh that was launched today.

Narayansinh Akdawas purchased the famed Marwari breed from Bhawarsinh Rathod, another horse enthusiast. Narayansinh, who is an entrepreneur in the property and mining segment, said that he has been trying to purchase the horse, Prabhat, for a long time.

Narayansinh also has two female horses of the same breed. Interestingly, a host of buyers -- both national and international -- had been showing interest in Prabhat for the last few months.

THIS HORSE HAS HIS OWN POOL

Narayansinh has made elaborate arrangements for the upkeep of the horse. Despite having two horses from the Marwari breed, he said that Prabhat has a special place in his heart. He has made two stables for Prabhat. While one is a covered stable, another is designed for the horse to enjoy leisurely walks.

Apart from the stables, Narayansinh has also created a swimming pool inspired by British architecture for the horse. He has also hired three persons to take care of the needs of the horse.
Along with the plush amenities, Narayansinh has also laid out an exclusive diet regimen for the stallion. Food items ranging from corn, wheat, soybean, milk, and even desi ghee form the horse's diet. Prabhat also receives a rejuvenating massage every day after a bath with expensive shampoos.

PLANS FOR BREEDING

As of now the horse is being kept at one of Narayansinh's farms, and he also has plans to breed him. Apart from the upkeep, Prabhat is being trained by a woman from France.

"Prabhat was born to Kanhaiya, a horse from Jaipur, and Gangaur a mare from Jodhpur. He has also won accolades at horse shows in Baltora, Pushkar and Ahmedabad," said horse expert Dr Ajit Rao.

Sources said that despite prevalence of breeds like Arabian and Malani, Marwari horse Prabhat is the first to be sold at such a high price.

The Marwari breed is one of the most researched horse breeds in the world. They are known for their intelligence and stamina. Incidentally, the horse of Maharana Pratap, Chetak, too belonged to the Marwari breed.
