Man held for molesting minor

SURAT: A person was arrested by police for sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl in Udhna area of the city on Sunday. The accused, a father of two girls and powerloom worker, was about to rape the minor girl when her mother reached the spot.
Pravin C Jariwala, who was under the influence of alcohol, lured the girl in the afternoon and took her behind the car.He removed her undergarments when the minor girl's mother caught him and got her daughter released from his clutches.
The accused, who is in his mid-forties and a resident of Kharwarnagar building, was booked under IPC section 354(A) and sections 11 and 12 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Udhna police station.
Police inspector S A Katariya said, "He would be presented in the court soon. The court would be requested to remand him in police custody."
