CHENNAI: Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi was admitted to Andhra Hospital in Vijayawada as he suffered from low sugar and low blood pressure.
The 81-year-old acharya, head of the Kanchi Shankara Mutt, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital.

He was rushed to a private hospital and currently he is in the ICU. Hospital sources said the acharya would be moved to the general ward by evening," said a Kanchi Mutt official.
A team of five doctors were attending on him. His condition was said to be stable, said the hospital authorities.
