BANNU: Launching a campaign against anti-social elements, police claimed on Saturday to have arrested 61 proclaimed offenders and seized weapons from their possession.
Briefing the media men at his office, DIG, Nisar Ahamad Tanoli said that a two-day crackdown was launched against criminals in Bannu Region under the supervision of DPO City, Waqar Ahamd and DPO, Lakki Marwat, Muhammad Idress Khan.
During the campaign police conducted 118 raids in various areas of the region and arrested 61 POs for their complicity in serious nature crimes.
Police also recovered 17 Kalakoves, 3 Kalashnikovs, 5 rifles, 13 shot guns, 28 pistols, one hand grenade and 1246 cartridges from their hideouts.
