Schools to remain shut if decision on aid not taken by Ganeshotsav
Mumbai: Ahead of Ganeshotsav, the promised deadline for a decision on government aid for teacher salaries and school expenses, several teachers and school associations intensified their demands and threatened to mark a ‘black teachers day’ or even keep schools shut.
Various organizations have been in talks with the government on a host of demands over the past few years.
Some of the demands, including grants for schools eligible for aid, have been agreed to in principle but the state has not issued government resolutions yet. tnn
