Punjab govt committed to providing world class healthcare facilities: MLA Darshan Singh Shivalik
Shivalik said that for providing world class health facilities to the residents of the state, several new hospitals are being opened. He said that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to providing healthcare facilities in Punjab.
LUDHIANA: In line with the efforts of the government in putting forward its developmental face for the people of the state Gill constituency MLA Darshan Singh Shivalik on Monday claimed that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government was committed for providing world class healthcare facilities to the people. He said that strengthening the healthcare facilities was one of the foremost priorities of the present Punjab government and that is why several new hospitals and Community Health Centres (CHC's) have been developed in different parts of the state.
Shivalik said this while addressing the gathering during the inauguration of a CHC in Dehlon village of Ludhiana district on Modnay.

This newly constructed 30-bed CHC would cater mainly to the residents of 42 nearby villages of Ludhiana and Sangrur districts. Mr Darshan Singh Shivalik informed that this CHC has been constructed with a cost of more than Rs 6 crore by Punjab Health Systems Corporation (PHSC).
While speaking on the occasion, MLA Darshan Singh Shivalik said that several new healthcare schemes have been started for the benefit of people, while several other schemes are in the offing. He said that the Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana is running successfully in the state and lakhs of beneficiaries are availing benefits under this scheme, that has been started with the efforts of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Shivalik said that for providing world class health facilities to the residents of the state, several new hospitals are being opened. He said that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to providing healthcare facilities in Punjab.
While speaking to media persons, Shivalik said that this CHC was a long pending demand of the area residents as the area lacked a big hospital. He said that this CHC would have all ultra modern facilities, labs and four specialist doctors- a Gynaecologist, Child specialist, a surgeon and a specialist of medicine, besides other facilities.
