Eunuchs spray sleep-inducer, rob woman

MUMBAI: A woman from Charkop has lodged a police complaint that two eunuchs stole nearly 300gm of gold ornaments from her house on Saturday.
The woman, Ghetal Jethava, said she was alone at home when the eunuchs landed up at their door and asked her for water. When she got water, the two sprayed some sleep-inducer due to which she passed out.
When she regained consciousness, she found the safe open and the ornaments weighing 290gm missing, said the police, adding that the monetary value of the valuables is not yet know.
A police officer said there have been such thefts in Charkop but hinted that they were skeptical of her claims. “We’re not rubbishing her allegations, but are not too convinced,” said the officer without saying why the claims were dubious. The crime branch is probing the case.
