Oman education: Students of British School Muscat excel in exams

Muscat: Students of British School Muscat (BSM) have excelled in their GCSE and A Level results again this year.
Ninety-two per cent of BSM’s GCSE students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades (including English and Maths).
This year’s GCSE students also broke the BSM record with 56 per cent of all grades at A*or A, thus confirming BSM’s position as one of the top five highest performing British international schools in the Gulf Region.
It also placed BSM within the top five per cent of the UK state and independent schools.
The BSM students also achieved fantastic results in their A Levels, with a 100 per cent A*-E pass rate. Sixty-four per centof all grades were at A* to B. Particular congratulations are due to Samuel Graham (A*A*A), Isabella Ezechie (A*AA B) and Joseph Situmorang (A*A A) for their outstanding results.
With their great A Level results, the BSM alumni will go on to study at world class universities, including the University of St Andrews and the University of Bristol in the UK, Northwestern University in the USA, Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and Macquarie University in Australia, to name a few.
Kai Vacher, the principal of BSM, said, “These are fantastic results and I am absolutely delighted to see so many of our students doing so well. As ever, students have worked incredibly hard with commitment and determination to achieve high grades across a broad range of disciplines. It is also vitally important to recognise the dedication of our staff who, with the support of our parents, work tirelessly to ensure that all students do their best every year. We wish our students all the best as they continue their studies, either here at the BSM or beyond at university.”
