I took on BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi over Shaktiman, claims Robert Vadra

Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law claimed that he took on BJP leader Ganesh Joshi for assaulting soldier horse, Shaktiman, who died in April in Dehradun.

Rober Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday claimed to have clashed with BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi in Dehradun. Vadra claimed that he took on the BJP leader for allegedly assaulting the soldier horse of the Uttarakhand Mounted Police force, Shaktiman, who died in April.

"Just took on Shaktiman killer, BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi. I saw him with his entourage at airport at Dehradun receiving some BJP MP. I told him what I thought of him. He came towards me screaming, shouting and threatening. I told him, if the horse can't speak, I will. He was pushed out of the airport, with his goons," Vadra said.

THE BACKGROUND

On March 14, the BJP held a protest march in Dehradun against the Harish Rawat government of Uttarakhand. Heavy police deployment was made as part of security arrangements. Soldier horse, Shaktiman was part of the Mounted Police Force deployed on the occasion.

Suddenly, there was a commotion near the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, where BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi allegedly attacked Shaktiman. However, Joshi denied beating up the horse. The 14-year-old horse died on April 20.
