AAP leader Khaira asks Amarinder to prove his charges against him or apologize

JALANDHAR: AAP Punjab spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira has dared Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh to prove his allegations of illegitimate overseas funding to AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and to him (Khaira) or tender an unconditional apology.
Terming Amarinder’s recent allegations that Kejriwal was CIA agent and his NGO had been receiving illegal funds from the Ford Foundation of USA and that he (Khaira) visited USA and Canada recently and collected funds from NRIs, Khaira said that he was appalled and surprised to hear the “maliciously false, baseless and politically motivated charges."
"Amarinder Singh’s allegations against us smack of personal hatred and amount to the ‘Pot calling the kettle black’, as he and his family are neck deep in corruption.
Before accusing us of any kind of corruption, Amarinder Singh should realise that he is facing two major cases of hundreds of crores of corruption in shape of Ludhiana City Centre scandal and the Amritsar Improvement Trust scam,” he said.
"In so far his allegations against me are concerned, I state that a leader of Amarinder Singh’s stature is so ill informed, that he doesn’t know that I never visited Canada recently. I was sent on an official AAP tour of USA in April 2016 where the party held official fund raising functions. It is also true that during my 20 day tour besides getting a thunderous response from the NRI’s, the party was able to raise decent amount of funding. It is also a matter of fact, that all donations made during these fund raising events were received through credit cards only from Indian passport holder NRIs. Any NRI who did not have an Indian passport made donations to our other overseas account namely AAP Parvasi Friends. Here too, all donations were made online or through credit card. No donation was accepted in cash in any of these functions," he said.
He claimed that the real cause of panic for Amarinder was that while he received an overwhelming response from NRIs during his tour, Amarinder was hooted, shouted against and vehemently opposed by NRIs during his overseas trip.
He also asked Amarinder to clarify if he received huge donations from the family of one Kulwinder Singh Babbal of Tanda whose family resides in New Jersey USA, due to which he was now projecting him as the Congress candidate from Bholath.
