The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) held a live pre-pitching session with start-up owners in the presence of entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate representatives at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Mohali on Saturday.

MOHALI: The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) held a live pre-pitching session with start-up owners in the presence of entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate representatives at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Mohali on Saturday. The idea was to choose the most innovative minds for the forthcoming Start-Up Summit and Tech Awards-2016 being hosted by Assocham.
The participants presented their novel ideas to a panel of investors. The ideas which appealed to the investors were selected for the final live Pitching Session which is set to take place on September 2 as part of the main event.
While sharing some vital information on its upcoming summit, Assocham director Dalip Sharma said: "Keeping pace with the start-up revolution, Assocham has come up with the Start-Up Summit and Tech Awards-2016. Whether you're planning or building a high-growth tech start-up, a mobile app, a piece of hardware, working in a non-profit or a large bureaucratic organization, this summit is designed for you to support continuous innovation and sustainable growth." Manipal Dhariwal, chairman entrepreneurship, IT's and Start-Ups Committee, Assocham, added: "The current thrust is on the ease of doing business, coupled with easy availability of initial funding schemes, single window systems, online approvals, evolving technology, and an ever-burgeoning domestic market."
He also informed that Assocham India was aimed at encouraging start-up ventures in northern India to nurture, implement, and grow their businesses ideas and commercialize their innovations in tune with 'Make in India' and 'Digital India'. The Start-Up Summit and Tech Awards will witness the participation of innovators, entrepreneurs, founders, business owners, students, educators, investors, and senior marketers, apart from other stakeholders enabling the start-up eco-system, like digital executives and professionals, web and mobile strategists, designers and web project managers, business leaders and business developers, venture capitalists, equity funds, and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) who are operating in the start-up eco-system in northern India.
The summit has been conceptualized to develop the entire eco-system for the growth of start-ups in northern India, from informing start-ups with their capital requirements, incubation, issues related to intellectual property, marketing support, financial and technical help to scale up their businesses.
