SOI, NSUI announce girls panel

Ahead of Panjab University Campus Students' Council (PUCSC) elections, the two prominent student outfits -- Students Organization of India (SOI) and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) -- announced their girls wing panel for campaigning.

CHNADIGARH: Ahead of Panjab University Campus Students' Council (PUCSC) elections, the two prominent student outfits -- Students Organization of India (SOI) and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) -- announced their girls wing panel for campaigning. "It would be appreciable if more and more girls come forward to contest for key posts in the elections.
Also, we are going to appoint girls at the highest level, so they should come forward to contest this election season," said S Parambans Singh Bunty Romana, co-ordinator SOI.
The girls 'panel has Arshdeep Kaur Mangat as president and Tavleen Sandhu as the chairperson. Avantika Thakur and Riya Chugh have been appointed as the senior vice-president. Prabhleen Nagra, Sonali Singla and Priya Sharma are the vice-president. While SOI made the announcement at a restaurant on Sector 14 campus, National Students' Union of India (NSUI) made the announcement at the Indian Coffee House, Student Centre.
Ashima Awasthi has been appointed as the campus president (south) and campus president (north) is Pallavi Klair. Aditi Malik and Parul Negi are the vice-president. Shaan Arora and Ibaadat have been appointed the general secretary.
"Our main agenda this election is to bring girls to the forefront since they are the pillars of our party. The panel was decided keeping in view the party's main agenda that is, empoweringfemale students of the university. Following announcement of the panel, there was a short meeting and the girls' team showed a lot of fervour and commitment,"said Siya Minocha, an active NSUI member.
