Jind, August 27

Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu today slammed former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for criticising the sport policy of the state government.

He said, “Our sports policy is absolutely different from the Congress. The previous Hooda government will be remembered for making fake reward announcements to sportsperson, but the BJP government has adopted practical approach for their welfare,” said Capt Abhimanyu here today.

“The former CM had made so many reward announcements to players, but failed to disburse the amount. The BJP government, on the other hand, has distributed the pending reward amount of Rs 80 crore to sportspersons, which was promised by the Congress government in its tenure. The BJP government has increased the reward for bronze medallists from Rs 2 crore to Rs 2.50 crore,” said Abhimanyu. He said, “The BJP government is also completing various sports projects that were ignored by the Congress government.” — OC
