Railways announces operational halts at Bhusawal, Manmad
NASHIK: The Central Railways has finally converted operational halts of several trains into commercial halts which will benefit the passengers travelling by the trains.
The Sampark Kranti (Yashwantpur – Nizamuddin) Express running bi-weekly has been given the commercial halt at Bhusawal in both the directions from October 1. “The train halts at Bhusawal for five minutes in both the directions during its run.
Currently the halts are technical – meaning passengers cannot get a ticket from or to the station. But now they will get the tickets,” the railway officials said.
Similarly, Udyog Karmi Express – Valsad to Kanpur – running weekly, has also been given the commercial halt of five minutes at Bhusawal, in both directions.
The Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Faizabad Express, also running on weekly basis will now have a halt at Bhusawal allowing the people to book tickets from and to Bhusawal in both the directions. The train halted at Bhusawal only for technical aid.
The Yashwantpur – Chandigarh Sampark Kranti Express, the Shirdi Sainagar – Howrah Express have also been given the commercial halt at Bhusawal.
The other stations that will benefit from the ruling include Manmad Junction, where the Yashwantpur-Nizamuddin and Yashwantpur-Chandigarh have been given the halt of five minutes.
“The new commercial halts will help us travel between cities. As of now travelling by Yashwantpur – Nizamuddin train we would have to travel till Bhopal and or buy a ticket till Daund which is very costly affair. Now we can book tickets to the point and back. We welcome this decision by the Railways,” Vikram Raje, resident of Bhusawal said.
