AMC to cancel handover process of half a dozen colonies

AMC to cancel handover process of half a dozen colonies
Agra: In his probe report, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ram Singh Gautam has recommended cancellation of the handover process of the six private colonies which were handed over to Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC) in violation of norms.
He said “AMC will conduct no developmental work in these colonies. These colonies are excluded from AMC civic responsibility.
People living in these colonies should take legal action against builders.”
According to the sources, AMC employees and officials allegedly arranged a secret deal with the builders to get these private residential colonies transferred to the civic body and after the transfer process infrastructural works worth several crore rupees from AMC funds have taken place in these colonies.
“Strict action will be taken against AMC officials and all employees involved in the matter. The funds which have been spent on these colonies by the AMC will be recovered from these people.” Ram Singh added.
Earlier an alleged scam surfaced regarding the transfer process of the six colonies including Vivekanand Puram, Saraswati Vatika, Gajanan Nagar, Dhruv Nagar, MK Pramand and Kaveri Vihar phase II to AMC.
One of these six colonies, Kaveri Vihar phase 2 which is outside the city was also illegally transferred to AMC.
On complaint of a scam in the transfer process of the colonies, Municipal Commissioner Indravikram Singh had directed Additional Municipal Commissioner to conduct a probe into the entire matter.
