MBABANE – His Majesty’s Correctional Services Choir members will smile all the way to the bank should they become champions in the Melting Pot Choral Music Competition.

Mzuthini Ntshangase, His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner General has promised the choristers that they will share this year’s E650 000 competition’s prize money.
The choristers have been told that if they win during the competition scheduled for October 29 at the Carnival City in Johannesburg they will share the prize money.

The choir will be competing for the lucrative prize money against nine other choirs. Some of the well-known South African choirs who will also have their eyes on the more than half a million cash prize include Bagale Choristers, SA Singers, Voices of The Nation, Kopano Chorus, Gauteng Choristers and African Chorus. All these choirs are well-known for receiving high scores in competitions making them tough competitors.
The commissioner general said the choir had already started preparations and he believed the choristers would not come back home empty handed.

He said each time they attend the competition they always have one intention and that is to win.
He pointed out that once the choir won, he would definitely make sure that the choristers share the prize money.

“I have assured them that this year I want a situation whereby our flag as an institution is lifted up high. Once we win, they will smile all the way to the bank. Unlike previous years where the prize money was handed over to the institutions authorities, this time we are motivating the choristers as they do all the hard work,” he said.

The commissioner general said he will attend the competition this year.
“As a father, I want my presence to be felt. Winning the competition would be great,” he said.
