JALANDHAR: Ludhiana-based Shiv Sena leader Amit Arora and three others have been brought from Ludhiana central jail by the Jalandhar commissionerate of police on production warrant for questioning in the case of attack on Punjab RSS vice-president Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja (retired).
The development happened less than 24 hours after the Punjab government decided to shift the probe to the CBI after state police could not crack the case.

Jalandhar commissioner of police Arpit Shukla confirmed that the accused had been brought in for questioning in connection with attempt on Brig Gagneja's life. The four were produced in a local court that remanded them to seven day police custody.
Gagneja is battling for survival at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Ludhiana, after he was shot at on August 6. His condition is stated to be critical and he is on ventilator. The attempt on the life of top RSS leader had rocked the state government and it was facing immense pressure to crack the case.
The Shiv Sena leader and three others was arrested by Ludhiana police in June for staging an attack on himself.
The three accused arrested with him for staging the attack included Bharti, Mani and Samar D'souza. They have also been brought in with Arora for the questioning.
