KOLKATA: Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi has expressed his deep grief and condolences over the sad demise of Padma Vibhushan A R Kidwai, former Governor of Bihar and West Bengal.
In a message to the media, the governor said: Dr Kidwai was an educationist and started his career as professor in the department of chemistry at Aligarh Muslim University and later on became the first elected Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr. Kidwai also served as UPSC Chairman.
“He later on served as Governor of Rajasthan and Haryana. He was a member of Rajya Sabha between 2000 and 2004. Dr. Kidwai distinguished himself in the fields of Education and Social welfare”.
