TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Mayor, Ridwan Kamil, says that there are a lot of regulation from the Central Government that turn out to be hampering regional development.
"A lot of regional innovations are stalled [...] because there is no regulation from the central government," said Kang Emil.
But he said that districts should come up with innovations, be there a regulation in place, or not.
He added that president needs to issue a special discrepancy for ideas and innovations. "We fear of breaking the existing regulation. I suggest we continue innovating, as long as it does not cost the nation," he said.
Emil said that some projects in Bandung are still bound by the central government regulations, such as tyhe cable car project. "The project needs to undergo a tender first, before implemented," he said.
