Dayashankar was expelled by BJP for his comment and thereafter the leader has started targeting the UP Polls in the Mayawati region. Joined by his wife, Dayashankar is holding public meetings in the election bound state, aiming guns at BSP.

But then on Sunday, one of the meetings addressed by the couple at Hathras was also attended by a local BJP leader and a Samajwadi Party candidate as well.

Swati, Dayashankar’s wife seems to be taking the reins of the rallies. She has been talking about the comments that BSP leaders made in retortion to Dayashankar’s. Swati told people about the ‘abusive’ and ‘obscene’ slogans raised by BSP leaders against her daughter. She had earlier also been vocal in her interviews at the disrespectful manner the BSP leaders behaved in, demanding for their arrest. An FIR has was lodged last month for the same including Mayawati and Siddiqui.

She has been requesting people not to vote for people who raise ”obscene slogans at a 12-year old”. She said the vote should go for ‘community’s dignity and respect’.

Dayashankar says the programmes are totally not under any political control as this has become Swati’s personal fight as a mother and people come to ‘show solidarity’. She is not a political person like him and her concerns are what are being supported by the people.

So far, the couple has been tagreting Kshatriya dominated areas and the meets have witnessed attendance of several community leaders as well.

Since the comments coming from BSP leaders, Mayawati has dropped the plans of continuing protests against Dayashankar as her party is fielding Kshatriya candidates in some two dozen assembly segments and Dayashankar’s holdings are targeting just that.

More such meetings are lined up in the month in Mainpuri, Ballia, Mau and Agra. The public meeting in Ballia, Dayashankar’s native place, is scheduled for August 28, the same day Mayawati is slated to address a rally in neighbouring Azamgarh.
