Motorcyclist dies in crash with car in Bishop Auckland

A motorcyclist has died in hospital after a car and a bike collided in County Durham.

The man, who was in his 70s but has not been named, was injured when a Mazda and a Suzuki bike collided in Woodland, Bishop Auckland.

He was flown to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police said the car driver was shaken but unhurt in the crash, which happened at about 10:30 BST.
