'Ketan trying to discredit Hardik with BJP help'
AHMEDABAD: One day after two Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leaders, Ketan and Chirag Patel, accused Hardik Patel of spending donations meant for 'martyrs' of the community on a lavish lifestyle, another member of the Patel outfit has made counter allegations against Ketan Patel.
Abhik Patel, social media coordinator of PAAS in North Gujarat, claimed in a letter that Ketan, who was co-accused in the sedition case against five PAAS leaders, has been trying to topple Hardik with the support of people from the BJP.
The letter was circulated on social media groups by Dinesh Bambhania, who was also booked in the sedition case along with Hardik, Chirag, Ketan and Nilesh Erwadia.
"I would stay with Ketanbhai after he came out from jail and I found many BJP people meeting him and talking of damaging the Patidar agitation. Gradually, they started making attempts to tarnish Hardik's reputation," Abhik Patel said in the letter. "An industrialist associated with BJP had said he would donate a huge sum for 'martyrs of the Patidar community, only if they tarnish Hardik's character. I tried to convey to Ketanbhai that this should not be done, but he asked me to focus on a programme scheduled for August 26."
