Road romeos chase two sisters in auto, booked

In a shocking incident, two sisters on their motorcycle were followed by a bunch of youth in an auto-rickshaw who passed lewd comments at them and also followed them. But the sisters managed to note down the autorickshaw number.

The 25-year-old girl along with her sister were followed by the auto-driver and his three friends from Tilak Nagar to Agarkar road, where the girls were heading for their class.

According to the Manpada police report, the youth are believed to be in the age group of 25-30 years and were suspected to be drunk at the time of the incident.

"The girls were afraid to confront them so they reported the incident to us after noting down the autorickshaw number," said a Manpada police officer.

"We will track down the offenders through their vehicle registration number and produce them in the court of law," said SS Borade, investigation officer, Manpada police station.

A case has been registered under sections 354(D) for stalking, 509 for word, gesture or act to insult the modesty of women, 504 for intentional insult and 34 for common intent under Indian Penal Code (IPC).
