The Local police arrested three persons Tuesday, including a woman, for possessing 52 gm heroin, three air pistols and Rs 3.46 lakh in cash. The accused were allgedly running a drug peddling racket in the area.
The police also recovered a luxury Chevrolet Cruz car from the accused and recovered an amber light from inside the car.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Navdeep Singh Bedi, Tarun Goyal and his wife Suman Goyal, all residents of Zirakpur.
The police have recovered two air pistols, one dummy revolver, seven pellets, an amber beacon and a Cruz car from the accused along with 52 gm heroin.
According to the police, they had received a complaint that Bedi was threatening some people by posing as an influential person and was also involved in drug smuggling.
Zirakpur Station House Officer (SHO) Tarlochan Singh said that both Tarun and Suman are habitual criminals and they were arrested once before for carrying 130 gm heroin and was out on bail.
