Angels closer Huston Street is expected to undergo season-ending surgery on his injured right knee, according to The Orange County Register.

Street, who was placed on the disabled list earlier in the month, hasn’t pitched since July 31 after experiencing soreness and inflammation in the knee.

The 33-year-old has struggled this season, posting a 6.45 ERA in 22 1/3 innings across 26 appearances and converting nine of 12 save chances. He is under contract at $9 million next season and has a club option for 2018.

Los Angeles (52–72) sits in last place in the American League West.
