GURGAON: Seven persons were book on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a kiosk owner near Iffco Chowk after the owner asked them to pay for the cigarettes they had bough from him.
Police said the assault took place around 2am on Tuesday. The seven persons, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, had come to a kisosk near Iffco Chowk, owned by a person called Sunny, a resident of Shivaji Nagar, and bought a few cigarettes and other tobacco products.
When Sunny asked them to pay up for their purchase, the men allegedly started misbehaving with him. Sunny told the police that one of the persons took out a stick from his car and hit him several times, after which they all left.
Sunny registered a complaint at Sector 29 police station on Tuesday morning, on the basis of which an FIR was lodged against the seven persons under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntary causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
“We have the registration number of the Scorpio, noted down by the victim. The details are being obtained from transport department and we are trying to track the seven persons,” said ASI Kanwar Singh, the investigating officer.
