A government doctor in neighbouring Sriganganagar was shifted from the Health Department local dispensary to the state headquarters in Jaipur following a brawl with a female staff.

Official sources said Dr Ajaib Singh Brar has been replaced by Dr Harmander Singh. The video clips that went viral on the social media show employees’ union leader Sita Soni and some others thrashing Dr Brar inside a dispensary in the Purani Abadi area. They alleged that Dr Brar “misbehaved” with a female staff member who could not report on duty as per the schedule due to some unavoidable circumstances.

The police had to intervene to rescue the doctor. Later, he was escorted to the police station. Later SHO Avdhesh Sandhu appealed to the warring factions to restore calm.
